Sweet and Spicy Tofu Steak

• 1 block of tofu
• Katakuri ko starch powder • Chopped
chives
• 2 tablespoons of sake
• 2 tablespoons of mirin
• 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon of sugar
• 1-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
• 1/2 teaspoon doubanjiang spicy broad bean sauce

1. Mix sake, mirin, soy sauce, sugar, mayonnaise and doubanjiang spicy broad bean sauce in a bowl, then set aside.
2. Drain the tofu well and sprinkle with katakuri ko starch powder. Fry in sesame oil over medium to high heat until nice and crispy on the outside.
3. Cover the tofu with the sauce we made earlier, stir lightly and fry for a minute or two. Plate with tofu and decorate with finely chopped chives.
